OVERVIEW
TEAM BACKGROUND
TOOL
Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effect, XD, Marvel
TARGET USER

RESEARCH
Our team did several researches on teenage pregnancy and how it is related to a student’s education and outcomes in real life. We discovered that students are not able to get the proper education about sex
“Teenagers want much more information about sex than they are currently being given.”
and teenage mothers struggle with health problems and unemployment
“The children of teenage mothers are more likely to have lower school achievement and to dropout of high school, have more health problems, be incarcerated at some time during adolescence, give birth as a teenager, and face unemployment as a young adult.”
Through the research, we learned that the app must be aimed for not only just focusing on educational resources, but also providing practical ways to help students out with learning pregnancy protection and doing pregnancy test realistically.

PROBLEM AND SOLUTION
With a basis on prior research, our team found out some problems in real life:

(1) Lack of access to educational resources to prevent pregnancy for teenagers.
(2) Limited resources to do a pregnancy test, especially for teenagers.
(3) Limited education in schools about the importance of pregnancy prevention.

And we came up with solutions to resolve the problems:

(1) Make guidelines that are easy to follow using flat design
(ex. How to use condoms, medications, etc)
(2) Make a period calendar to see if students are on safe day or not.
(3) Bluetooth technology for pregnancy testing
(4) Self report questionnaires for pregnancy testing
(5) Sex education (ex. Videos, games)
INTERVIEW
Interviews are based on:
(1) Difficulties of access to pregnancy test & education for prevention.
(2) Personal thoughts about pregnancy test and protections for pregnancy.
(3) Information people might want regarding sex education.

● Make it private and keep it confidential.
● Avoid sensitive / feminine design elements
LOW FIDELITY PROTOTYPE

FEEDBACK & INTERVIEW 2

FORMS:
The forms that we created are two: (1) Informed Consent Document and (2) Personal Information Form. Informed Consent Document was required to begin the experiment to inform the users about our purpose of this testing and to ask for consent / agreement for this experiment to be used for the class. We had two different electronic and paper copy for the consent form, since we conducted the experiment not only in real life, but also online as well. We provided participants the following information: (1)Goal for our study, (2)Expectations for participants, (3)Study Procedures, and (4)Confidentiality.

For personal information form, our questions are based on user’s background and personal preferences such as the following: (1) Age, (2) Gender Education, (3) People / Person who you’re currently living with, (4) Rate of comfort level: Computer / Laptop, Smartphone, Tablets, (5) Frequency of socializing with others in person an average week, (6) Average hours of spending on phone, (7) Purpose of using phone, (8) Apps a participant normally use, (9) Rate of interest in feminine health app, (10) Frequency of using feminine health app. These questions are aimed to know about user’s personal background that might be affecting to the personal opinions about the app.
METHODS:
In order to conduct the user testing, we have used the following two methods: (1) Task Completion Rates and (2) System Usability Scale (SUS). Task Completion Rates method is based on the form using the rate from 1 to 10 (Strongly Disagree 1 - Strongly Agree 5). The form has five different tasks asking completion of the following:
Task 1             Task 2            Task 3            Task 4            Task 5

 Feasibility       Creativity       Productivity       Content       Readability
Another form is System Usability Scale. The form is based on user’s usability (ex. future use of the app, complexity, design / technical / functional improvement).
USER TESTING OUTCOMES

We have each about 20 participants around us and gather all the data together later on. According to the System Usability Scale method results we have gained from the users, we were able to discover about several positive comments we need to maintain and/or improve on:

Positive Aspects:
Helpful for users:
● 75% of participants would use the app in near future.
(2) Straight-forward / Easy-to-use:
● 80% participants think they wouldn’t need extra knowledge or long process to figure out the app.
● 86% of participants think the app is easy to use.
(3) Functional / Efficient:
● 86% of participants think the app has helpful functions.
● 93% of participants think most people would be able to use the system easily and quickly.

Improvements:
There are also negative comments that we need to fix on:
More simple, efficient, and educational :
● Only 66% participants feel confident to use the app.
● 40% participants found unnecessary complexity.

Additionally, according to the Task Completion method results, we also were able to focus on several improvements based on both positive and negative comments by the users.
REFLECTION BASED ON USER TESTING
Through the analysis based on users’ comments, I was able to see which part I’m succeeded in and which part I need to more improve on. My problems were lack of educational content and readability. My positive comments were app design and efficient functions. I need to work on more research for educational contents, specific and accurate information (articles, instructions, etc.) and fixing app routes, making all the buttons work.

CONCENTRATION
